Yoga Teacher Training
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
We understand and respect your valuable time therefore we have designed these unique courses after the ancient yog ashram system in various durations so you may select one of these as per your convenient.
During this period, you will have the opportunity to live, study, and work with your teachers and fellow students in an ashram environment.
There is always a curiosity as a traveller to know more about the place you are visiting therefore besides focusing on Yogic aspect we also had focused on other side of lifestyle. Visiting local sites, traditional cushions, meeting & greetings with local families etc will give you an opportunity to know more about traditional culture.
The intensive daily schedule for at least of 8 hours of daily practice is includes Pranayama/meditation sessions, asana classes, lectures, and some other activities. The curriculum includes the following:
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This Teacher Training Course (YTTC) is a full-time, residential program (schedule varies based on the selected course) that introduces the fundamental techniques of yoga. The course emphasizes the following key aspects: yoga philosophy and its impact on health, breathing techniques, a basic understanding of anatomy and physiology, and an introduction to teaching methodology.
The YTTC program is thoughtfully designed to elevate your personal practice to the next level while equipping you with the skills to share yoga with others. Jiten Yogashala warmly invites you to embark on a transformative journey to discover the divinity within yourself through this comprehensive course.
Students engage with a practical and theoretical syllabus structured into four units, which are covered concurrently throughout the course duration.

- YOGA PHILOSOPHY – Students will learn about the major Eastern sources of yoga knowledge and its application both in teaching and in daily life.
- HATHA YOGA STUDIES – students will gain a sound knowledge and understanding of the classical asanas and other practices of yoga, by means of tutorial classes, detailed personal sadhana and self-reflection.
- ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY AND PSYCHOLOGY OF YOGA – students will gain a basic understanding of the anatomical structure of the body and how the bodily systems function and will be able to relate the all systems to asana, pranayama and relaxation in terms of physiological & Psychological responses.
- TEACHING SKILLS – students will learn to teach all aspects in the detailed syllabus by teaching their peer group under the guidance of the hatha yoga masters.
STANDARD GUIDELINES FOR 200-HOURS YOGA TEACHER TRAINING COURSE
These guidelines are established by Yoga Alliance. The 200-hour curriculum includes a combination of contact hours (instructor-led sessions) and self-study hours.
- Techniques, Training & Practice – 100 hours
- Asana / pranayama / Shatkarma / Bandha
- Teaching Methodology – 25 hours
- Anatomy & Physiology – 20 hours
- Yogic Philosophy, Lifestyle & Ethics – 30 hours
- 5 Teaching Practice – 15 hours
- Evaluation will be carried out only for students who have a minimum of 90% attendance during the 4 weeks of training.
(Note: The standard guideline mentioned above for the 200-hour YTTC program aligns with Yoga Alliance recommendations for your reference. However, we do not limit our teaching to these hours and are happy to educate beyond them.)
In addition to the 200-hour program, we also offer 50-hour and 100-hour courses. While the teaching methodology remains the same, the syllabus for these shorter programs is condensed to align with the course duration you choose.
CERTIFICATE AND ACCREDITATION
Jiten Yogshala is approved by the Yoga Alliance, USA, as a “Registered Yoga School – RYS 200.” This means our 200-hour “Yoga Teacher Training Programs in India” meet the high standards set by Yoga Alliance. After finishing our program, you’ll be assessed to become a member of Yoga Alliance and earn the title of RYT-200. Plus, you’ll be able to join our more advanced 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Course if you complete all the units successfully.

PREREQUISITES
Participants are encouraged to have prior knowledge of Yoga for better understanding, but it’s not mandatory. It’s recommended to start practicing yoga asanas as soon as you enroll in the course to make the transition smoother. However, participants must possess mental and emotional stability and be willing to embark on a journey of personal transformation, which involves self-reflection and self-empowerment.
SCHOOL GUIDELINES:
- Upon arrival at the school, it’s mandatory to fill out a health consultation form.
- The minimum age requirement for any of our courses is 18 years.
- Please wear clothing that allows freedom of movement, preferably made of absorbent, cotton-type material, or athletic wear. Avoid jeans or street clothes. During practice, yoga is done barefoot.
- To successfully complete your course, attendance at all practical and theoretical sessions, as well as any other activities offered by the ashram, is required.
- We recommend keeping your valuables in your luggage/bag and ensuring it is always locked, as we cannot be held responsible for any losses.
- All meals provided are purely vegetarian.
- Smoking and alcohol consumption are strictly prohibited on the ashram premises.
- ID Proof:
- For Foreign citizens: Two passport photos and an original passport are required.
- For Indian citizens: ID and Address proof such as Aadhar card, Passport, or Driver’s License are necessary.
- Accommodation and course facilities are exclusively for enrolled students. No outsiders are allowed to stay with us or share accommodation.
- Any misbehaviour or misconduct may result in disqualification from the course at any time, and course fees will not be refunded.
- Notify your instructor of any existing injuries, health problems, or medical conditions – including pregnancy – during the first-class meeting. If you develop any new injuries or health issues during the course, please inform your instructor. Your privacy will be strictly maintained.
PAYMENT AND REFUND POLICIES:
All students are strongly advised to thoroughly read all the course-related information before submitting their application for the Yoga teacher training course. Please note that the deposit submitted with the application is non-refundable. However, in the event of emergencies or other unavoidable situations, the yogshala may permit you to join the course scheduled for the following month.

This 200-hour yoga teacher training course covers Intermediate Level 2 Ashtanga series and Advanced Vinyasa Series, along with Meditation, mantra chanting, shatkriya, anatomy, yoga philosophy, Ayurveda, and group discussion classes. It also includes the practice of various asanas at different levels, each with its own unique benefits. Upon completing the course, students will receive certification for the 300-hour yoga training from JitenYogshala Yoga School.
