1. Is the program recognized by the Yoga Alliance?
Yes, Jiten Yogshala is a registered yoga school (RYS 200) at the 200-hour level with the Yoga Alliance. Students who successfully complete this course and receive certification will be eligible to apply for RYT 200 status with the Yoga Alliance.
2. What will be covered in the course?
The 200-hour Teacher Training program provides a comprehensive and integrated curriculum encompassing both yoga theory and practical skills. This course equips students with the necessary tools to confidently lead authentic yoga classes, fostering an inspiring teaching skill set. Participants will gain substantial knowledge in yoga anatomy, history, and philosophy, preparing them for a fulfilling journey as certified yoga instructor.
3. How is the day structured?
The training spans 27/28 days, with each day comprising a blend of asana classes, lectures, small and large group activities, practice teaching, and discussions. Ample breaks are incorporated throughout the day to allow for rest and meals. Additionally, participants will be expected to attend, observe, and assist in extra classes beyond the scheduled meeting times, enhancing their overall learning experience and practical exposure.
4. Will there be exams?
Yes, there will be a written test at the conclusion of the course. Successful completion of the test is a requirement to achieve certification for the course.
5. What is the procedure if I need to withdraw from the training for any reason?
If you choose to leave the program before finishing it for any reason, you can decide to take the program again later. However, you’ll need to pay 50% of the full tuition fee at that future time. Please note that Jiten Yogshala cannot promise specific program schedules for the future.
6. Is it likely that I will find employment as a yoga teacher?
While you will meet the eligibility criteria to pursue a career as a yoga teacher, securing teaching positions will require your own initiative and creativity. Many teachers begin by volunteering to conduct free community classes. Additionally, remember to enroll with Yoga Alliance for registration purposes.
7. I am pregnant, can I attend to the course?
Unfortunately, pregnant individuals cannot participate in the course, as it is too intense for them to complete.
8. I have only practiced yoga a few times. Would it be too advanced or too early for me to join the YTTC?
The YTTC is designed to accommodate participants of all levels, emphasizing a comprehensive teaching approach from the foundational principles of yoga to advanced aspects. While prior experience can provide an advantage, it is not a prerequisite for enrolment.
